This Order promotes a state of perfection for persons living in the world. They observe in spirit the three vows of poverty, chastity and obedience according to their state in life. Their purity of faith and cheerful zeal are an example to all. Obedience to a good rule strengthens the will and imparts order to life. It necessitates many acts of virtue and fosters constancy in the practice of piety. The Third Order of St. Francis is not for the few, but for the many.
